The International Journal of Management (IJM) is committed to promoting the highest standards of scholarly publishing, research integrity, and ethical conduct. Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal are expected to ensure that their work is original, accurate, ethically conducted, and compliant with internationally recognized publication standards. By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge and agree to adhere to the policies outlined below.

Authorship and Contribution

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research and manuscript preparation. All listed authors must:

  • Have significantly contributed to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study.
  • Participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
  • Approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
  • Agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work.

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts:

  • Represent original work that has not been previously published.
  • Are not under consideration by another journal or publication simultaneously.
  • Properly acknowledge and cite the work of others.
  • Do not contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or unauthorized use of copyrighted material.

All submissions may be screened using plagiarism-detection software. Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism may be rejected immediately or withdrawn from publication.

Data Integrity and Research Accuracy

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and reliability of their research. Authors must:

  • Present data honestly and accurately without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.
  • Retain research data and supporting documentation for a reasonable period following publication.
  • Provide access to data or supporting materials when requested by the editorial office, subject to ethical and legal considerations.
  • Clearly describe research methods to allow transparency and reproducibility where appropriate.

Ethical Compliance

Research involving human participants, organizations, or sensitive data must comply with relevant ethical standards and legal requirements. Authors should:

  • Obtain necessary ethical approvals before conducting research.
  • Ensure informed consent has been obtained when required.
  • Protect the privacy, confidentiality, and rights of research participants.
  • Disclose any ethical considerations relevant to the study.

The journal reserves the right to request evidence of ethical approval or participant consent where applicable.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation or presentation of their research.

Examples include:

  • Research funding or sponsorship.
  • Employment or consultancy relationships.
  • Ownership of relevant intellectual property.
  • Personal or professional affiliations that may create bias.

If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should explicitly state that no conflicts are declared.

Funding Disclosure

Authors are required to identify all sources of financial support related to the research and publication of the manuscript. Funding information should include:

  • Name of the funding organization.
  • Grant or project number where applicable.
  • Description of the funder’s role in the research, if any.

Transparency regarding funding helps maintain trust and accountability in scholarly publishing.

Submission and Publication Ethics

Authors must ensure that:

  • Manuscripts comply with the journal’s submission guidelines and formatting requirements.
  • The same manuscript is not submitted to multiple journals simultaneously.
  • All authors have reviewed and approved the submission.
  • Any use of artificial intelligence tools in writing, data analysis, or content generation is disclosed where appropriate and does not replace author responsibility.

Unethical publication practices, including duplicate submission, redundant publication, citation manipulation, or misrepresentation of authorship, are strictly prohibited.

Corrections and Retractions

Authors have an ongoing responsibility to maintain the accuracy of the scholarly record. If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in a published article, they must promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate in issuing:

  • Corrections or errata.
  • Expressions of concern where necessary.
  • Retractions in cases of serious errors or research misconduct.

Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance for publication, authors may be required to agree to the journal’s copyright and licensing terms. Authors retain responsibility for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, images, and other third-party content.

Authors must ensure that all submitted materials comply with applicable copyright laws and licensing requirements.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions if they believe a decision was based on factual errors, procedural irregularities, or other legitimate concerns. Appeals must:

  • Be submitted in writing to the editorial office.
  • Clearly explain the grounds for the appeal.
  • Include supporting evidence where appropriate.

All appeals and complaints will be reviewed fairly, objectively, and in accordance with the journal’s established procedures.

The International Journal of Management (IJM) is dedicated to fostering a culture of academic excellence, transparency, and ethical research. Authors are expected to uphold these principles throughout the research, writing, submission, and publication process, thereby contributing to the integrity and advancement of scholarly knowledge in management and related disciplines.
