Policy of Screening for Plagiarism Process

The International Journal of Management (IJM) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. The journal has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, and other forms of research misconduct.

To ensure the originality of all submitted manuscripts, every manuscript is screened using Turnitin before it enters the peer review process. Authors are required to submit a plagiarism (similarity) report generated using Turnitin along with their manuscript at the time of submission. Manuscripts submitted without a plagiarism report may be returned to the authors for completion before editorial evaluation.

The Editorial Office carefully reviews the similarity report to distinguish legitimate similarities, such as references, quotations, and standard methodological descriptions, from unacceptable text overlap. A high similarity index does not automatically indicate plagiarism; however, evidence of copied, unattributed, or improperly cited material will be investigated in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

If plagiarism or other forms of unethical publication practices are identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected or returned to the authors for correction, depending on the nature and extent of the similarity. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, and may notify the authors' affiliated institutions where appropriate.

The International Journal of Management (IJM) follows the recommendations and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when investigating allegations of plagiarism and publication misconduct. Authors are expected to ensure that their manuscripts are original, properly referenced, and comply with the journal's plagiarism policy before submission.

By requiring Turnitin similarity reports during submission and conducting independent plagiarism screening, the journal seeks to maintain the integrity, credibility, and quality of the scholarly record.
