The International Journal of Management (IJM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a transparent, ethical, and efficient editorial process. The journal's editorial policies are designed to ensure fairness, integrity, quality, and accountability in every stage of manuscript handling. IJM follows the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and internationally recognized publishing standards expected by major indexing databases, including Scopus.
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board have full authority over all editorial decisions. Editorial decisions are made independently and solely on the basis of the manuscript's academic quality, originality, significance, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope. Editorial decisions are free from commercial, financial, institutional, or political influence.
Every submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to determine whether it:
Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors before peer review or declined without external review.
All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin or an equivalent plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process. Manuscripts exceeding the journal's acceptable similarity threshold or containing evidence of plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, or other forms of research misconduct may be rejected in accordance with the journal's ethical policies.
IJM follows a single-blind peer review process. Suitable manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area. The Editorial Office monitors the review process to ensure fairness, confidentiality, objectivity, and timely completion.
Editors evaluate reviewers' comments and recommendations before making one of the following decisions:
The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final publication decision.
Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scholarly merit and scientific quality. Editors do not discriminate on the basis of nationality, gender, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, religious beliefs, political views, or other personal characteristics of the authors.
Authors are provided with reviewers' comments and editorial recommendations. Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a detailed response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. The Editorial Office maintains clear, professional, and timely communication with authors throughout the publication process.
Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting and proofreading to improve clarity, consistency, grammar, formatting, references, and language while preserving the scientific accuracy and intended meaning of the work. Authors are provided with page proofs for final review and approval before publication.
The Editorial Office is responsible for organizing accepted manuscripts into scheduled issues based on the journal's publication frequency. Articles are prepared for publication only after successful completion of peer review, editorial review, copyediting, proofreading, author approval, and final quality checks.
The journal is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Editors follow the recommendations and flowcharts of COPE when addressing allegations of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, authorship disputes, citation manipulation, conflicts of interest, ethical violations, and other forms of research misconduct.
Where necessary, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the published literature.
Editors and reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could affect the impartial evaluation of a manuscript. Editors with a conflict of interest will recuse themselves from handling the manuscript, and an alternative editor will be assigned.
Editors and editorial staff treat all submitted manuscripts and associated documents as confidential. Information regarding manuscripts will not be disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial staff, and publisher as necessary during the publication process.
Authors who disagree with an editorial decision may submit a reasoned appeal to the Editorial Office. Appeals are reviewed independently by the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriate Editorial Board member who was not involved in the original decision. Complaints relating to editorial procedures or publication ethics are handled fairly, transparently, and in accordance with COPE guidance.
Authors are encouraged to retain their original research data and make supporting data available where appropriate to promote transparency, reproducibility, and verification of published research. Editors may request access to underlying data during the review process when necessary.
The Editorial Office provides reasonable assistance to authors regarding manuscript preparation, submission requirements, formatting, and the editorial process. However, editorial assistance does not guarantee acceptance, and all submitted manuscripts are evaluated solely on their academic merit.
When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal will publish corrections, corrigenda, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate, following COPE guidelines to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
The journal is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of published articles through appropriate digital archiving and indexing practices, ensuring the permanence of the scholarly record.
The International Journal of Management is dedicated to continuous improvement of its editorial processes and publishing practices. The journal follows internationally recognized standards established by COPE, ICMJE, and the quality criteria expected by reputable abstracting and indexing services, including Scopus, to ensure ethical, transparent, and high-quality scholarly publishing.
